In August 2010, MOCK Studio worked with railLA to produce a month long exhibit in downtown Los Angeles entitled LA Beyond Cars. The exhibit showcased work from around the world on high-speed rail and other transit related projects and developments. MOCK Studio worked with railLA’s Program Director Jonathan Louie and the Exhibition Committee to collect submissions via an international call for ideas, secure funding, identify and obtain the raw exhibition space, design and build the exhibit, and implement a month long series of events to populate the space for the entire month. In all, the exhibition included nearly $150,000 in volunteer hours and in-kind donations, $25,000 in cash contributions, and the coordination of over 100 volunteers.
